Session Fees for Services

As of January 2023, I charge the following fees for my services:

  • Initial Diagnostic Evaluation — $210 per session
  • Individual Counseling — $185 per session
  • Professional Consultation — $160 per hour or prorated per 15 minute increments
  • Clinical Supervision — $160 per hour (can be shared by two supervisees)
  • Presentations & Trainings - Inquire within for a proposal

Counseling sessions are 53-55 minutes unless otherwise discussed. If you are late to your appointment, your session will be reduced in time. If you are over 15 minutes late, the session will be rescheduled and a late fee will be charged (see below). If my fee creates a hardship for you, please discuss this with me. I reserve a limited amount of reduced-fee spots for those underemployed, unemployed, or students. Payment arrangements must be agreed upon prior to the start of treatment.

Insurance & EAP's

For your convenience, I will file claims directly to insurance plans when I am an in-network provider. Currently, I am a participating provider for the following networks:

  • Medicare (Part B)
  • Premera Blue Cross/Lifewise
  • First Choice Health Network
  • Kaiser Permanente – PPO Plans only (Core members- Must obtain Prior Authorization)
  • Lyra Health EAP

Please note:  I am no longer in-network with Regence Blue Shield, Cigna, Aetna, or United Healthcare/Optum. This applies to United Behavioral Health and as well as Optum EAP.

Prior to your first appointment, I will help you verify your insurance benefits and inform you of any deductibles and/or copays.

For other insurance plans, I am considered an out-of-network provider.  It is always recommended that clients check with their insurance companies prior to start of treatment to verify if:

1) Mental Health outpatient services are covered

2) Out of Network providers are covered and at what level/percentage?

For out of network clients, I require my full-fee payment at the time of the session and will provide you with a monthly superbill that you can submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.

Payment

Cash and checks are accepted forms of payment. Major credit cards (VISA and MasterCard) and FSA/HSA cards are accepted. Payment is due at the end of the session. Account balances must be up to date before treatment services can continue.

Late/Cancellation Policy

Mental Health treatment requires a commitment and is most effective when sessions take place regularly. However, it is understandable that sometimes things come up that prevent you from attending your appointment. If you do need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, it is your responsibility to provide a 48-hour notice. Failure to provide 48-hour notice will result in a $100 late cancellation fee. Last-minute exceptions may be occasionally made in the event of illness, inclement weather, and true emergencies and *only* at the discretion of the provider. **Please note that insurance companies do not reimburse for missed appointments.** Chronic cancellations and chronic tardiness to sessions (more than 3 in a 6 month period) will likely result in a conversation about one's commitment to therapy and possibly termination of services.

No Surprises Act & The Good Faith Estimate

Under the law, health care providers, including counselors, are required to give new and existing patients who do not have insurance or who choose to not use insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.

You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.

Your health care provider should give you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-633-4227.
